how to scan 40.000+ slides

I get quite regularly mail requests à la "ich have an archive of 40.000+ slides and want to scan them fast but in the very best scan quality. Well, you can beat me for that, but this is simply impossible. A proper scan plus postprocessing take its time. Multiply this by 40.000 an you will need years for your project. I would better advise you to rigourously sort out your slide stock with loupe and light box. Scan only good shots, that will be - if you are not Helmut Newton or alike - probably 10% of your total stock. You save much energy and effort with this.
